One of the blocks from the Pedal 16' Diaphone, invented by
Robert Hope-Jones. The diaphone is not a common stop on Church Organs, and is
mainly found on theatre organs, as well as lighthouses- where it is still used as a
foghorn.
The first organ to feature a Hope-Jones Diaphone was that of Worcester
Cathedral, built in 1896, which has both a 16' and 32' Diaphone.
